Monday Moanin’
Had a great time at the Spring football game this past Friday. The team was full of enthusiasm and spirit… the Tim Beckman era has officially started. Great things to come.
How about our Lady Rocket golfers!. Two first-place finishes in a row …how about a “hat-trick”, since the NHL playoff season is underway.
Kudos to Georgina Hunt for being named the Md-American Conference golfer of the week. Georgina is from Eastbourne in the United Kingdom. Congratulations.
It was a sad day last week when Mark “The Bird” Fidrych died. I vividly remember the wonderful 1976 Tiger season. Each time “The Bird” pitched it was as if it was a World Series game. “The Bird” had the enthusiasm of a 10-year-old and the arm of a Hall of Famer (at least for one special season), the June 28, 1976 Yankees at Tigers game was one of the highlights of my sporting life. There willl never be anyone like “The Bird”.
Just read about the new netbooks… these mini laptops are poised to reshape the industry. It’s fun to see technology emerge and change the way we do business and conduct our lives. Anyone have one? If so, what do you think?
Have a great week. I’m told Spring will arrive again on Thursday. Regards, Larry.

I was fortunate to have also attended the June 1976 game when The Bird faced off against Kenny Holtzman and the Yankees. The Tigers won, and the atmosphere was electric, for sure.
I was there the next Summer too, when Fidrych faced the Yanks again on a Monday night, this time against Don Gullett. Both pitchers threw complete games, as I remember, but the Tigers and Fidrych prevailed, 2-1.
