The Tigers won, and the atmosphere was electric, for sure. I was there the next Summer too, when Fidrych faced the Yanks again on a Monday night, this time against Don Gullett. Both pitchers threw complete games, as I remember, but the Tigers and Fidrych prevailed, 2-1.
