Some More Thoughts…
The first annual 2009 UT Blue and Gold Scholar Back 2 School Fashion Show was recently held at Savage Arena in partnership with Juice 107.3. A great new event to reach out to children of all ages about the importance of education. Our very own UT Alum Mr. Greg Braylock spoke and was fabulous!
Also, thanks to people like Amelia Acuna and Tricia Cullop. These two ladies are rising stars at UT.
A special thanks to Michael Brinker from Michael David Limited…the finest men’s clothing store in the area.
Speaking of gentleman’s clothing…Summer is fast coming to an end and I have only a few more weeks for the seersucker, linen and bright colors. I just love Summer;
I was in Chicago this past weekend for a wedding. A great place but it sure is nice to get home…we have so many things going for us here and very little of the congestion like a city of Chicago’s size has;
Can’t wait for convocation on Friday…we will premiering our new video for the incoming students based on the song “Walk on the Moon” by my favorite band “the Great Big Sea”. Trust me…listen to this band while running or driving and you’ll be hooked. There’s a sneak peak of the video below. Turn it up!;
Do you think “Bow-Tie Friday’s” has a chance of catching on this Fall? Watch for the new UT Bow-Tie coming soon;
Have a great week…enjoy the heat! Regards, Larry.

I have to say that is a terrific video for incoming students. I would like to see more of that in our advertising.
Good music, too!
Also, regarding an older journal, has there been any communication with the Girl Scouts regarding their Gold Award program and UT? Just curious since I had read that contact had been made with the Boy Scouts.
Thanks.

I just love this video and I hope the music will be played on campus often to remind the student of their dreams and expectations !

This was really well done. Who put it together?? Let’s see the credits. The music was great, and well matched to the pictures. Excellent job. Would be well used in advertising spots, too.

ABSOLUTELY AWESOME!!! I loved it! I do think bow-tie Fridays will have a chance – and not only for males – I can envision wearing a bow-tie with one of my suits…….

As I was watching the video many thoughts came to my mind. First, the video is very upbeat and positive, which I liked very much. Secondly, the editing was outstanding. Particularly fascinating to me was the transition as the camera zooms away from the many faces of UT then the pieces make up a single picture of a UT Football player. Thirdly, the choreography was timed, I believe, just right as many of the song lyrics were timed to portray the corresponding image on the video, nice touch. I believe many aspects of the University were touched, football, baseball, summer, fall, incoming freshman, graduation, etc. However, I noticed that images of the Health Science Campus were absent. I believe some pictures/video footage of the Hospital aspect could have been included to enhance the video and that aspect of UT. Just some of my thoughts…Thanks for sharing!
