Imported From Detroit
I have to say, I love watching the Chrysler commercial that debuted during the Super Bowl. I too am imported from Detroit … and proud of it. But living in Toledo for the last 21 years has made me a “Toledoan”. And I feel that we need to grab some of that Motown pride that the ad projects. I might even suggest we do our own Toledo version of the commercial.
We also have a major connection with Chrysler in our town. The New Manufacturing revolution that is becoming part of our brand includes the way vehicles are now being built … in Toledo. So that is why it is so very cool that Sergio Marchionne, the Chrysler CEO, will be speaking at our spring Commencement on May 8th. What a powerful statement … that a world business leader is coming to The University of Toledo to speak to our graduates. That is real relevance!
