We did it and I cannot thank you enough.

Over the last several days, the Rocket Nation rose to the challenge and helped earn The University of Toledo a place among four charities who will have their bow ties worn by Ken Rosenthal of FOX Sports during the 2012 World Series.

When you tune to FOX Saturday for the 8:07 p.m. game between the Detroit Tigers and the San Francisco Giants, you’ll see Ken sporting our 2012 Tie-One-On bowtie, our annual fundraiser for prostate cancer research.

Our Rocket Basketball-themed tie garnered 1,834 Facebook likes to take third place the BowTie Cause competition.

We owe all of you who “liked” our bow tie a debt of gratitude. You have not only earned us the national spotlight, but also have helped to draw additional attention to prostate cancer research at The University of Toledo.

In the coming weeks, you’ll hear more about this year’s Tie One On event, Saturday, Jan. 26.… and we hope you all make plans to attend. But for now, sit back and enjoy what should be a thrilling series… and hopefully a world championship for your Detroit Tigers.
