On the special January edition of Environmentally Sound, host Larry Burns, vice president for external affairs at The University of Toledo, is joined by WRJ radio personality Paul W. Smith at the 2011 North American International Auto Show to discuss sustainability in the automotive industry.

- And Susan Cischke, the Ford Motor Company vice president in charge of sustainability, environment and safety engineering, tells us about the company’s efforts to respond to the demand for more efficient automobiles.
Larry Burns is the host of Environmentally Sound. Mr. Burns, a native of Detroit, graduated in 1978 from Central Michigan University with a Bachelor of Science Degree. As the Vice President for External Affairs at The University of Toledo, Mr. Burns is uniquely connected to the research and development taking place on UT's campus and around the world in the areas of alternative energy and sustainability. In Environmentally Sound, Mr. Burns will explore the most recent findings of this research, the latest trends in the sustainability movement and the implications the work at The University of Toledo and around the region has for the future.
