Hillel Hello !הילל שלום
Shalom ‘שלום’ Hebrew for Hello, Goodbye, Peace and Love. All of these things culminated into what was a great beginning and end to a wonderful year last year. Hillel has developed and put into practice what will be the first of many Jewish Heritage months, which will continue to build upon the next and be even more spectacular! After collaborating with Campus Crusade for Christ, we started what will hopefully become a longstanding tradition here at UT with the CRU Christmas Tree and the Hillel Menorah. This celebration has been integrated into the Lights on the Mall Ceremony.
With work and collaborations from the Jewish Federation of Greater Toledo and other members of the Jewish community we’ve made great strides to bring Hillel to a point where we can make Jewish students feel like they have a home away from home. Over the past two years I was able to participate with Admissions to create a campaign to boost the population of Jewish students of the University. I think its been a wonderful success and hope only for more good things to come from it.
We are so excited to welcome back Jewish students this year and from a relaxing summer. We also want to welcome all students who are interested in learning more about the Jewish culture and invite them to come to Hillel functions! As a part of this ‘Hillel Hello’ we are having a Welcome Back party on September 1st at 5:30 in the Student Union!
So let me say, ‘Shalom‘ and may this year be a great year not only for Hillel but for all Rockets!

Thanks for your message.
I was glad to read of your collaboration with Campus Crusade for Christ.
Many positive results can come out of such collaborations.
