As we come to the end of the year, we see student organizations, groups at UT and students in transition. The phrase, “out with the old in with the new.” A bittersweet phrase I think, leaves us with a reminiscent feeling of looking back onto years of great memories and wonderful experiences, but looking ahead to a hopeful and bright future. For all of us who whether or not we are in leadership of sorts, graduating or just moving on in a point along our journey at the University of Toledo, its a feeling we are all experiencing right now.

I recently achieved Alumni status for my Fraternity and although this particular feeling has not hit me, it remains that I look back on several years of great memories and Brothers whom I’ll cherish forever. For all of the students that are graduating this coming semester, this goes for you and the amazing achievements that you’ve accomplished here at UT. And for all of the up and coming leaders and younger students, you have an amazing journey still ahead of you and great experiences you’ll make here at UT.

As one of my favorite songs from ‘Sunset Boulevard’ says, ‘Out with the old, in with the new, a midnight wish I give to you!’ The wish that I give to everyone, I wish everyone good luck with whatever the future has in store… So here’s a Fresh Cup for the Road!
