Keeping Up with Dr. Kaye

Support our Rockets: Make a difference in cancer research!

This Saturday marks the anniversary of one of our University’s phenomenal fundraising events: the sixth annual “Rockets For the Cure” Women’s Basketball game!  Helping to benefit the Susan G. Komen for the Cure, the largest breast cancer awareness, advocacy and fundraising organization in the country, your Rockets will take on the visiting Ohio Bobcats at 2:00pm in Savage Arena.  Everyone in attendance is encouraged to wear pink in support of cancer awareness and research – the Rockets will be donning their home white jerseys with pink numerals!

Tickets are FREE for students (with their student ID) and groups of 15 or more may purchase tickets at $6.00 each – the first 500 of such groups will receive a free “Rockets for the Cure” T-shirt!  Throughout the game you can also buy tickets for a live raffle for an autographed ‘Rockets For The Cure’ T-Shirt, Toledo gear from Rocky’s Locker, a set of four tickets to our Football home opener on August 30th and more!  Right after the game there will be a live auction of the players’ white and pink jerseys hosted by guest emcee Chrys Peterson of WTOL 11 News!

Your support is needed!  This is truly an amazing and worthy cause and I encourage everyone to attend what is sure to be a terrific matchup and event.  Last year $19,845 was raised, exceeding the previous year’s amount of $18,010.  I know we can break into the $20,000 range this year and we need all of your help!  Once again, the game is on Saturday, February 15 and 2:00pm in our own Savage Arena – See you at this very special game!!

Go Rockets!
