CDC is reporting that during Week 45 (November 4-10), flu activity within the US has increased. However, the number of deaths attributed to the flu and/or pneumonia is below epidemic threshold levels and there have been no pediatric deaths.
Here is the most recent Flu Map where we see some states reporting something a little bit more intense than just sporadic flu activity.

Paul Rega is a board-certified physician in Emergency Medicine and is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Public Health & Disease Prevention and the Department of Emergency Medicine.
