Ready. Set. Tweet!
January 10th? Where has the time gone? It’s the second day of class? I just woke up from the @UTTweetTeam Express to Washington DC (26 hours without sleep will do that to you). Well, as I shave off my three-foot long beard from my slumber I reflect upon our recent trip to Washington DC. For those of you who don’t know…the Office of External Affairs chartered a motor coach to Washington DC for the Military Bowl where are very own UT Rockets reigned supreme. In-between “point A” – “point B” we awarded our Rocket Fan passengers with exclusive Rocket swag – ShadyPeeps, Tervis Tumblers, and other great things (found on UToledoGear.com soon) for helping us create a social media stir on the way to DC. We hope to say we made some friends along the way, or at least followers.
Now we call on you, our student-followers on Twitter! We want you to tweet for the @UTTweetTeam! Why? Well Chris, Keri, and I can’t make to every Rocket event, we tried once, I woke up at the 50 yard line of the Glass Bowl. We are looking for those that are active on Twitter, interested in tweeting about UT sporting events, lectures, lunches, and any and all other UT-happenings on campus. We are looking to help spread the social media “word of mouth” to draw more people in or at least educate them on the event at hand. Your tweets have to be funny and interesting at the same time, we’re not looking for generic headlines, unless you fill them with puns, tons and tons of puns.
Think you have what it takes? If so tweet @UTTweeetTeam with your best audition (in 140 characters of course). If you’re in, we will direct message you with an invitation. You’ll get risky and un-screened access to our Twitter account and an awesome t-shirt I (humbly) designed. I’ve had people offer me money for one. Really.
