Do you want to INTERN IN OHIO?

Intern in Ohio is a new internship connection resource created by UT’s latest partner Digerati, a Michigan based software firm. Intern in Ohio’s creation has been sponsored by the University of Toledo to assist with our mission to improve the human condition by connecting a significantly higher amount of UT Rockets with internships across our state. Have you thought about interning in a larger city or perhaps closer to your hometown? Intern in Ohio will match you with several positions of your interest and expertise. UT’s sponsorship means that UT students will be the first group throughout the state of Ohio to have access to hundreds of internships with large and small businesses across the state.

Piloted in Michigan, 65% of students on Intern in Michigan were offered internship placements over a year’s time span. We hope to have similar, if not higher, results for our students in Toledo. An internship, during any year throughout your studies, is sure to help you acquire new hands-on skills, help you link theory to practice, and allow you to network with professionals in the field. All students are recommended to create a user profile on Intern in Ohio’s site mid-February! Making a user profile is as simple as inputting basic personal data, defining the field(s) that you would like to work in, and answering questions about your competence in the selected fields.

Before you begin applying for internships be sure to visit the university Career Services office! The friendly staff in this office will assist you in creating a competitive cover letter and resume. In addition, you can learn strategies to put your best foot forward in interviews by scheduling a mock interview or by attending a Workshop Wednesday event. Learn more about these opportunities by visiting the Career Services website HERE.

At this point in time, students, faculty and staff can pre-register at http://www.interninohio.com/. Students, faculty and local businesses should watch the video and enter your e-mail address. Once the site is up and running, students seeking an internship will be able to create their profiles. It will be helpful to have your resume prepared to upload. Good luck and please notify us of your internship placements!
