We RocketED out for a Cure!!
Waking up this past Sunday was different from other Sundays. I was actually pumped to get up because for the second year in a row, I volunteered with the Susan G. Komen Race for a Cure where thousands took to the streets in downtown Toledo. I love giving back but this is one thing I never miss because it hits home. My great grandmother and my cousin were both victims of breast cancer, so I feel obligated to participate every year and to donate because those two were very special to me! This year, I was at a water station at the 2 mile marker with the Lady Rockets! It is always an amazing sight when people can come together aside from their differences to make a difference for a cause. Along with that I seen a lot of my fellow Rockets, so I know UT did it’s part.
Here are some of the Rockets who RocketED out for a Cure:
This was definitely a great day to be a Rocket! I am so proud of all my fellow Rockets!
Furthermore, my fellow Rockets, it is important to give back to the community. Do your part and take part in some community service. If you are hesitate try and do some service or support causes that affect you, your family or friends! Trust me you will feel good inside afterwards!
